Terms & Conditions

Payment

All payments are to be made via bank transfer.

You will be invoiced separately for the studio hire rate and for your engineer/producer (if provided by us) prior to your booking and full payment of both invoices is required by the start of each session. This is up to your producer/engineers discretion and if required, other forms of payment can be arranged to better suit client needs.

When reviewing or revising your song/album edits and/or mixes, you’ll be sent MP3s for fast and easy file transfers. Once the project’s invoice/s have been paid in full, then you will be sent the master .WAV files for further Mastering or release.

Yama-Nui reserves the right to withhold any recordings until the client’s invoices have been paid in full.

Deposit

All bookings will require a deposit to secure the dates, to be paid via bank transfer.

Failure to pay the deposit will mean that any reserved dates can still be offered to other clients.

The deposit will consist of 30% of your booking and is non-refundable.

Cancellation

If you need to cancel the session for any reason, you will forfeit the deposit.

If a cancellation is made earlier than 7 days prior to the start of the session, no extra fee is charged.

If a cancellation is made 7 days or less, prior to the start of the session, an additional 20% of the booking is required to be paid (totalling 50% of the booking).

If a cancellation is made less than 48 hours prior to the start of the session, full payment for the booking is required.

We fully appreciate that circumstances can change for unknown reasons and are sometimes out of our hands. Yama-Nui reserves the right to use it’s own discretion in these matters and to apply the appropriate level of cancellation policy.

Re-scheduling

If a session is rescheduled more than 7 days prior to the booking, then the paid deposit will be transferred to the new dates, providing those new dates are within 60 days of the original booking.  If the rescheduled dates are more than 60 days after the original booking, you will be required to pay a new deposit.  If rescheduling takes place less than 7 days prior to the commencement of the booking, the deposit will be forfeited and a new deposit will be required.

Again, Yama-Nui reserves the right to use it’s own discretion in these matters and to apply the appropriate level of it’s cancellation policy.

Overtime

All sessions will be strictly limited to the booked times.  Availability of any overtime is strictly at the Engineer’s discretion, subject to studio availability and will be charged at $100/hr up to the 10hr daily total and then $120/hr for any time beyond 10hrs.  This is not to rip you off but rather to deter you from pushing our engineers into exhaustion.  We need them fresh for tomorrow!

Data backup & storage

Yama-Nui takes no responsibility for backups of your work.  You’ll need to BYO HDD for all backups, formatted to work with MAC OSX. We do run daily ‘TIME MACHINE’ backups but cannot guarantee the availability of your data.  If you don’t have a backup (preferably 2), then it’s not backed up.  We will store your sessions for 60 days after completion.

In the event of a system failure or a software failure that interrupts session time, Yama-Nui will reschedule any lost time at no extra charge.

Equipment damage

During any ‘Dry Hire’ session, or any regular session, If you damage something you will be required to pay for the repairs.  So please, be very careful with our vintage gear.
